Found these two little pieces of bent metal with four tiny short sheet metal screws. Anybody know what they are for? 135124

Maybe for the hood latches? Didn't have those in my parts, but the kits are changing all the time.

No idea. Haven't seen them before either. Were they in your inventory list? (Which you did in detail of course, right? :o)

Yea I didn't see anything in the manual for them. I am going to try to post some pics of my car so far, I will have it a month on Friday. I'm trying to post without them being turned, don't know if that will happen.

I've found that resizing the pictures gets them to post correctly. Try making one of them smaller and post again. Sorry I can't help with the part.

If you're using a cell phone to take your pictures, there is a setting to disable the "orientation" bits in the image data. The rotation is displayed in some apps, like this forum, based on that data. If you use the approach described here, it won't be a problem:

I don't know why the picture of the body came out so big. If anybody can help me with this I would appreciate it.

It's the difference in attaching pictures and embedding them. The attachments carry the orientation data from when they were created and will be rotated based on that and only display a thumbnail in the post. Embedding them using the instruction linked in my earlier post should fix the issues for you. If your images are too large, they will need to be resized to allow them to be embedded. I simply us Microsoft Paint to resize my images to about 1/2 their original size before uploading them to the gallery.

The last post with the picture of the frame, I resized it down to medium where it said it would be the best for email and transmitting but it still came out rotated. Should I go to the small size? I'll try paint if I can figure out how to do that. Computers and me don't play well together.

Let's see if this works, I put this pic in paint and resized it smaller.135141

Well, you got it rotated, but still used the attach vs. embedding method to share in your post. Please read this: https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?18962-How-to-use-the-Image-Gallery-to-embed-pictures-in-posts

Yay!!! Paint worked by sizing then taking a screen shot and uploading it. Seems like a lot of work.....

Two things. 1 The upload feature in Gallery - My Albums has the ability to select the size of the picture. 2 If you are using a PC computer, all you need to do to set the orientation is open the pic, even if it is already correctly oriented and close it. If it isn’t, rotate it and close it.

I made this video a while ago on this subject. It is the long way to do this, but it will get you to a way that works for you.

But we still don't know what the part is!

On to the photo issue. Here is another approach:
1. download GIMP or another photo editor. (It's free).
2. open your photo in GIMP. A pop up window will appear asking if you want to rotate it. Click yes. (In my case, I email the photo from my phone to my laptop where I have GIMP installed. I grab the photo out of the downloads folder when I open it in GIMP. So, if you keep track of these things, it's an additional step.)
3. Export the photo to a folder, any folder.
4. Open your photo gallery in the forum. Upload the photo from the folder where you exported your photo to into the forum gallery (yours, hopefully).
5. Save and you're done.

Maybe easier, maybe not. I like this approach. It also gives you the option of all kinds of photo editing which sadly, I have not attempted so far.

Beings we have abandoned the ops question.......

GIMP is a powerful program like adobe's photoshop. If you arnt comfortable with computers, i might suggest starting with irfanview, i have used it for years, its free and will batch edit pics, make a back up of your pics first.

Ggunter, you might add something in the title about uploading pics beings we want to talk about that more than your question!! What are those little metal pieces anyway?

Sorry I got off track with the original post. The bent metal bkts are about 3.5" long and about 2" wide and came with four very short sheet metal screws barely a quarter in long.

As Paul said, try to find them on your inventory sheets. What box were they in? Find that sheet and use process of elimination to zero in on them. Look at any parts with quantity of two. Do they have any numbers written on them? You mention they came with screws ... were they in a separate bag with a number on it?

ggunter

I looked through all the inventory sheets and couldn't find anything that described them in a qty. of two. So when all else fails ask the factory. I sent a picture to Matt at FFR and I'll see what he says.

Got a reply from Matt at FFR and he asked around and didn't know what those brackets were so I'm not going to sweat it. If I run into and issue where they might look like they go then I'll install them.

Looks like a turbo encabulator baseplate. Prefabulated amulite, very rare. Maybe that's part of the upcoming MkV upgrade?

They go between the headers and the wood frame. It keeps the wood from burning.

I think the guys at Factory Five have developed a dark sense of humor.

Made me think of the scene where Shelby tossed the bolt over on the tarmac by the Ferrari crew.

To the OP-

They are for mounting the fetzer valve bracket under the dash if you are using a fox body cruise control unit.
