View Full Version : I Just Realized I Never Did an Official Graduation Post for #9115

As the weather is starting to turn from summer to fall, I realized that I never took the time to formally announce the graduation of FFR #9115! What a fantastic experience building this car has been. I received my complete kit in the middle of June, 2017 and was legally on the road in January, 2020. I was a complete novice going into this build and it was the support that I saw being provided by this forum that made me believe I could actually build my own car.

As an engineer, I want to say how impressed I am with the level of engineering that Factory Five Racing has done to produce a kit that even a novice builder can complete. No other kit manufacturer can offer the same in my opinion.

Along my journey, I’ve met many incredible people; both in person and on this forum. No other forum I’ve ever used has been like this one, where help is so readily available and offered so freely.

I chose to go with BluePrint Engines for my engine and transmission and all I can say is, Wow! BluePrint Engines has made it so simple to get everything you need in a single, drop-in package that alleviates the guesswork of trying to assemble the components yourself, especially for those of us that have no engine building experience.

My vision going into this was to have a car that could be driven regularly, taken to shows, and enjoyed. I have that and so much more.

Thank you to everyone in the Factory Five Racing community; builders, manufacturers, advisors, and friends for making this one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

Hey (Papa) Dave, she's a real beauty! In my mind... The colors are perfect and everytime I think of the cobra I saw as a kid, well, you nailed it! I was so honored to take my very first ride in this very car! If I can make my build anywhere near what you did, I'll be so happy and satisfied. And I agree with you 100%! To have a car that looks great, but also one that I will drive!
I want to add a thanks as well, for not only allowing me the opportunity to meet you and see your completed build up close, but also for all the contributions you given to this forum. Your build thread is seen and surely used by many, as I know, since I check all the time! May you find safe roads wherever you drive... Thanks Dave!

All I can say is it's about darn time! :p

You know I get to see a lot of cars as they come through here...and I get to see them "nekkid" while the bodies are off which reveals EVERYTHING. Some good, some not so much. Yours was one of the best! It was obvious that everything was well thought out and executed by a craftsman. You built an outstanding car Dave; enjoy it for many years my friend :)

Thanks, Jeff! That means a lot coming from a master builder and craftsman like you. And such nice comments in spite of my dead battery, fouled spark plugs, and excessive fuel consumption.

Keep doing what you do, Jeff! We need guys like you to help us achieve our dreams with these cars.

Great looking car, and your color is my choice as well. Your build log is what inspired me to believe I to could build a car, and I did. You and Paul are allways so helpful with tips and problem solving.
Thanks!
