My couple of years build has turned into a marathon after life took over when my wife & I designed & built a new house, helped renovate our two daughters houses & then required some serious surgery. The build is now back on track. I am working on the engine wiring & was wondering if anyone knows what the two light green/yellow leads which come down with the oil pressure wires and has a connector which fits onto the water temp sensor are for. There is no reference that I can see in the manual & no mention in the coyote wiring. I have used the sensor for my temp gauge so there is nowhere to connect to. Do I have to retain these leads or can I cut them back? Thanks.

Are these wires in the Gen I Coyote harness or the Factory Five (Ron Frances) harness. I did a quick look at the Factory Five harness and didn't see anything but a dark blue wire for the water temp sensor and grey for the oil pressure sender. The Gen I Coyote harness doesn't connect to the water temp or oil pressure sensors at the front of the engine.

The wires come from the Coyote engine harness. It looks like they go to the computer & the injectors & I cannot see where this is supposed to connect to. Do I just leave it as it is?

They are probably for the temp gauge in the mustang. You said they plug into the sender? I would leave them until you know all is well.

These wires might be the CAN bus connection for the electric power steering. You can also use them for a digital dash or a data logger.

As Michael said, just leave them.

Can you post a picture?

If I remember correctly you can either put a Tee fitting on and run both sensors (coyote harness and the gauge) or just eliminate the harness one. The engine can get temp from another sensor. Going off memory here.

Thanks guys, that's what this forum is about. Always somebody who knows about your issues. I think I will connect as you can never have too may sensors.
