I posed this on the other forum also.
Brake bias question
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's a question for all of you who have the Wilwood dual master cylinders. Which way does one turn the balance bar to, for instance, reduce front wheel braking and increase rear wheel braking?
Do you shorten the rod on the rear master cylinder or do you shorten the rod on the front master cylinder.
My cylinders are set up that the right one is for the front and the left one is for the rear.
I've got the knob that attaches to the balance bar attached on the right side. I'm not sure which gives more braking, the longer rod or the shorter rod.
I've also noticed my front reservoir level has dropped 1/4" and a wet area around the lower driver's footbox. Me thinks a leak in one of the fittings, conviently behind the offset footbox shield. Well there are ony a few screws holding it on so I'll have to investigate. I think I'll just replace those two short lines and at the same time maybe install a hydraulic switch for the e-brake.
Does any one have this setup? Curious as to what I would need besides a switch. Is this the same item as the old line lock switch we used to use in drag racing on the front wheels to keep from tripping the lights? Except installing it on the rear brake line. I saw reference to it I think in one of Russ Thompson's threads.
