Hello all..... Need a little help here if anyone has any info they can share. I have a 408 stroker running 10:1 compression and want to replace the starter with a high torque starter. The issue I have is the following. I need a starter with a 3/8" offset, however I have a 157 tooth flywheel and the smaller register hole on my backing plate. I know the 3/8" offset starters fit in a 4.130" hole and the 3/4" offset starters fit in the 4.084" hole. What I need is a way to install a 3/8" offset starter in the 4.084" hole, or would it be safe to use the 3/4" offset starter in the 4.084" hole and just use a 3/8" spacer between the started housing and the backing plate??? Sorry about all the numbers, but maybe the photo will help. Thanks!

I would call Tilton and inquire about this starter (https://tiltonracing.com/product/40000-series-super-starter/)and how to configure and/or adjust for your application.

I would call Mike Forte to get his take.
