Where have you guys been lifting the front of your finished hotrod? I have a low profile jack but when I lower the car the jack wants to hit the bottom of the fiberglass.

Is yours full-fendered? I suppose that's obvious from your question, but don't want to assume.

I know exactly what you mean. So what I do is put a block of wood between the jack and the lower control arm on the front passenger side suspension and jack it up to put a couple of inches of wood under the tire. I then release the jack and now I have enough clearance to get the low profile jack under the fiberglass chin and, as RR suggested, jack it up at the X tubes. Have to be careful not to crush the lower rad hose as well.

I have a Mk3 roadster, but have the same problem. I put 2 2x8 pads together and park the car on it. Then I can get my jack under it, or out from under it.
