Looking for some help on trouble shooting my fuel gauge. It is the FFR supplied sender along with the Speedhut gauges. As I filled the car with fuel I ran the gauge through the different setting per the instructions from Speedhut, but the fuel gauge continues to be stuck at Full. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks Jeff and Bad Moose. I'll check that out. Hopefully that is all it is! One question, it looks like the instructions say to attach the ground from the sending unit to the ground from the gauge is that what you all have done?

I added a Speed Hut oil temp gauge to my FFR set. When I did that they (SH) said they had two types of gauges. Twin lead to sensor (+-) and single lead to sensor. I had preinstalled only one extra wire from the dash to the engine bay so I went with the single lead to sensor. When I asked them about the difference I recall that the twin lead was more accurate, or stable, or better in some way. I believe they are the best ones to tell you which type you have and which way to set it up. This of course assumes that a gas level gauge is the same as a oil temp gauge. In any event the FFR harness may not be the best way to hook up a Speed Hut gauge even if (as I suspect) the " real" supplier is the same.

Does your gauge do its initial sweep of the needle when you first turn the key to run?
You can put an 86 (or so) ohm resistor from fuel level sensor input at the gauge to the sender ground and apply +12v to the gauge. Assuming you are calibrated for a post ‘87 Ford, you should read about 1/2 on the gauge. That eliminates the gauge itself as the issue.
Because the gauge is reading resistance, where your ground is may affect the reading.
