Is the Mark IV rack any longer (wider) compared to the earlier Mark I's?
I have a Mark IV manual rack and it's about 3/4" too wide as the tie rods run out of thread before I get to them to about 51" tie rod to tie rod. The tie rods stop threading on the rack, as the end of the rack is now as far into the tie rod that it can go.

More than likely. It's just that the variety of racks used can very. It isn't uncommon on some to have to shorten the tie rods by 3/4", or buy the short tie rod ends. I think Mark at Breeze carries them?

If its an FFR rack then yes, they switched to a rack with built-in spacers on the rack to combat bumpsteer. The total length from the end to end of inner tie rod threads would be about 48" on a newer rack

Yes it's a unisteering part number 8001070 listed as a FFR. I have a cutoff tool that can do the shortening - a little at a time!:) And a thread chaser to clean up the threads. thanks for the info!

Put the thread chaser on before you cut, cleans them up as you remove it. :)
