Made a short trip in the Cobra today. Raising the hood to check on a coolant drip, I had been working on, I found the real problem.
My Gen 1 engine has 2 heater hose connections on the front top of the engine. Instructions are to connect the 2 barbs with the provided quick connect fittings and a length of heater hose.
Both fitting seem loose on the pipe nipples and dripping coolant. If I wiggle the fittings it leaks.
I think these fittings came with the Coyote installation kit from Ford,,,, will have to check that.
This is similar to the leak on the fuel line quick disconnect.
I will do some digging in my paper work and probably call Ford Perf unless this is a familiar issue, someone has a cure for.
thanks,

Change out the FFR fittings for brand name units. Mine also leaked. Replaced them & they have been good for 5 years DD.

I was hoping you would respond with your first hand experience. Do you think Dorman brand will hold up?
thanks,

For my Gen 3 Coupe / Gen 3 Coyote build I have a heater, but the connectors I used were also what come with the Coyote installation kit. I knew from my Roadster build they are Gates 28504 connectors. One of mine developed a leak that sounds very similar to what yours are doing. So ordered a couple and replaced the one that was leaking. Immediately could tell it fit better, locked on tighter, and didn’t wobble like the other one. In comparing the parts, the ones with the kit are marked made in China with an unidentified logo. The Gates ones have the Gates logo and the package says made in the U.S.A. Cheap knock-off parts included in the kit? Would seem so. Decided to switch the other side too as a preemptive move.

So I'd replace them. Make sure to get the genuine Gates branded ones. I've bought them twice. Once from Rock Auto. The other time (this one) on Amazon.

I like the Gates brand better than Dorman. Thanks for the advise on the brand and part number.
I am not very pleased with the results of the price shopping done on some the supplied parts, especially the gasoline quick disconnects.

You know... I had typed a reply along these lines and then decided not to butt in, but I agree with you. I know that FFR is trying to manage costs and make the product affordable to as many people as possible, but the quality of some of the parts in the kit is disappointing.

Mine are Gates from Amazon. Have other Dorman parts which have held up with no problems. Also for whats its worth over the years have a few thousand dollars in parts from Rock also only had one issue on an alternator. They shipped the replacement even before I got the bad unit back to them.
