Anyone run a peak down the middle of their hood?
I am trying to build up the common low spot with fiberglass mat. Have it pretty good side to side, but when putting level on hood, still have about 1/4" low spot front to rear. If I build up the front to rear depression, I screw up the side to side flatness.
I am concerned about getting good surface across the expanse of the hood. One person I have seen on the hot rod forum ran a slight ridge down the center of the hood. It would appear to be easier to get a nice surface by working both sides of the hood to the middle peak, rather than all across flat hood.
I have ordered some 1/4" fiberglass rods from McMaster Carr, and am thinking of embedding one into the middle of the hood, and fiberglassing up to it on either side.
What say you?

Thanks, Ralph
