Hello to all, I pick my car up this Tuesday the 19th at FFR, I have been following FFR for about five years and finally pushed the go button in the middle of June and ordered it. When I was 17, now67, I got a ride in a real 65 Cobra and it has been my dream car all my life. I've been following this forum since I ordered my car and am very impressed with a lot of the skills of most guys here who have built their cars. I've picked up a lot of tips and great ideas to make the build smoother and a better looking car in the end. This car will not be raced, just something I will take out on nice days and stomp it in the butt for a few gears then settle down and drive it till the urge hits me again. The rear came this past Wednesday and the driver dropped it off on the next side street over and signed my name to it. Luckily the neighbor looked at the crate and called me. I guess a quarter mile was close enough. But its ok and in my garage now. I bought the complete kit and the 347 engine and trans combo from Blue print, the engine ships this week, I got interior upgrades, leather seats, visor, wind deflectors, heater, wipers. I'm kicking powder coat vs anodized panels back and forth, I know both will look better than raw aluminum. If anybody has thoughts on which one is better please chime in. I want to do the drop trunk mod and if anyone has any tips on that also please chime in. I will spare everyone the pictures of picking it up and the bare frame and body, everyone has seen them numerous times but will post pics as I go along and ask questions as well. I am a stickler for detail so wiring, routing, and clipping will be military in appearance. Thanks to all in advance for your help.

Welcome to the forum. I'm nearing the completion of my roadster that was delivered Jan 2 2020 and live just down the road from you in the Columbia area. I powder coated all of the engine compartment panels and those that might be visible when completed. I then zinc chromated the other panels. Looking back on it, I should have just gotten all the panels powdered coated. I also did the Russ Thompson drop trunk mod. It's fairly straight forward and mine would look a lot better if I could cut a straight line!

I also went with the BPE 347/TKO600 package. Did you go with EFI or carb?

Enjoy the build!

Cheers!

Hello all, I picked up my car from FFR on Tuesday the 19th and hauled it 400 miles back to Md. Got it off loaded and the body off and on Wednesday I pulled all the aluminum off and took it to the powder coater whom I talked to the week before. He was very nice the week before and explained how wonderful his company is. So I go there and he said take it around back which I did, and some guy came out and throws a pallet on the ground and said put it here. Well because of all of the odd shapes and size panels I asked for a price, he said he would have to measure it all. I said ok and... he looked at me and said I don't have time to deal with that now just leave it and somebody will call with a price. I was not about to leave my parts un inventoried so I loaded them up and took them home. Then I went to my long time powder coater who is always 3-4 weeks out and left them with him. He called me today on the 25 with a price of $400 and two and a half weeks. I said I'll give you a thousand if I can have them next Wednesday.... He said pick them up Wednesday. So now I have all the front suspension and steering on and the rear hung with only the lower arms and ratchet straps and fuel tank in and I'm out of parts. My backordered list is more than a page long. I cannot finish any one system. Hopefully something will come in the next week. I did get my 347 engine/ trans combo from Blueprint yesterday. By the way how do you upload pics?134299 obviously what I did here is wrong.

How do I rotate the image when uploading?

Check out this link blow that GTBradley was kind enough to share with me. There is also a thread about posting pictures and of course I can't find it now, but this video was very helpful for me.

How do I rotate the image when uploading?
Initially, I was running all my photos through a windows image viewer which allows you to rotate. When closed they stay that way without the need for saving. I've since found that just emailing them to myself will make them stay oriented as taken. Mac mail, if you have it, has the added benefit of letting you choose the size of picture you want to email. Hope this helps some.
