it seems it's upgraded internals but same power - correct?
looks like the following upgrades:

Mahle pistons
Manley con-rods
ARP bolts
spark plugs
no exhaust manifold (no issue for these cars)
oil filter - probably in the Gen3 Coyote too
billet oil pump gears

Gen3 Aluminator M-6007-A50NAB

The Ford Performance all-aluminum 2018-2020 5.0L Coyote crate engine is a modern 5.0L 32-valve DOHC V-8 that uses advanced features like Direct and Port Fuel Injection, Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing (Ti-VCT), high-flow cylinder heads, and heightened compression ratio to deliver 460 horsepower @ 7,000 rpm and 420 ft.-lb.+ of torque @ 4,600 rpm (with premium fuel). The lightweight plasma transferred wire arc spray aluminum cylinder block features cross-bolted main bearing caps and thick main bearing bulkheads for bottom-end strength, optimized oil drainback and windage control to improve high-rpm performance.
Ford Performance has taken the Gen 3 Mustang GT 5.0L Coyote engine and created another in its series of "Aluminator" crate engines built to deliver higher performance. The 5.0 Aluminator NA is built with connecting rods and pistons designed specifically for high performance applications. Mahle® 12.0:1 compression ratio forged pistons are hard anodized and feature Grafal® low friction coating. The connecting rods are premium Manley ® H-beam with ARP® 2000 bolts. The Gen 3 5.0L Aluminator NA is a direct bolt in for 2018-2020 Mustang GT.

I think for regular driving it's a bit overkill...

I was hoping for a Gen3 Aluminator XS but those are 2X the cost of a coyote!

I think you answered your own question. If you're just doing regular driving and no intention of power adders, the extra money isn't worth it. The Aluminator is clearly designed to stay together at higher power levels. Whether NA or boosted. If you're just going to run the stock HP and torque, the stock engine will easily stay together. Some will say but yeah down the road you're going to want more power and then you can add it without fear of breaking the motor. True I guess. But even the stock Coyote can have power adders and be just fine. Especially IMO with the relative light weight of our cars and for most of us not nearly the same annual miles as our DD's.

Hey, Todd. I think Trevor's aluminator is in the 500's or so, isn't it? I know he has stack injection, but I don't know what else he did to it.

The Gen 1 Aluminator had a lot more done to it than the Gen 3. Its hp rating was over 500. There was, what I considered, significance differences in the Gen 1's. I do not see it in the Gen 3 specs. The Mustang guys add power adders to the Gen 3's and they live. Same rods as the Boss. I think for the Gen 3s, it is an easy choice. I have the A50XS Aluminator.
Hope this helps.

C’mon Todd, where’s your forum mindset? You know, the one that says if it costs more it must be better:p

And if it's twice as expensive, it's 4 times better. Thats why it should be the Gen3 Aluminator XS

Right? Luckily, they didn’t ask about drivetrain cost when calculating tax here.

$8500 for a gen2 with that kind of power and reliability?..done deal!

I could jump right in, had problems with the aluminator so put all my paint money into a built gen 2 with boss heads.

CJ Pony Parts is advertising them for $11,750. For about $2K more you can get a pump gas 427W that makes 667 HP. https://www.shafiroff.com/ford-pump-gas-engine/427-ford-dragpak-pump-gas-engine.php I know which one I'd prefer.
