Windshield Wiper Parts

Hi Everyone. I have a MK4 with wipers installed. I believe that the wiper arms and wheel box studs are stripped. I am looking to replace them. FFR has the complete kit but does not separate have parts. Does anyone have wheel boxes and wiper arms they would like to sell?

I recommend you take the wheel boxes apart to verify the studs are stripped. Lots of folks have had a problem getting the cable to engage properly with the gears, leading to erratic, noisy, or faulty operation. NOTE: The newer wiper kits from F5 appear to have fixed this problem; the newer wheel boxes are identical to those from **********.

If they are stripped, count the number of teeth on the wheel. You're sure to find replacement wheel boxes on eBay. Or you can order them from **********.

If they are not stripped, then you need to tweak the back cover so that it locks the cable in to the gear.

John, the wheel boxes are fine internally. What is stripped is the post where the wiper arms attach. I would like to try finish line. They have the parts I need but based on the posts recently, they are not responsive. I may not have an alternative.

You could also try Moss Motors. It appears these kits use Triumph, Austin Healey or other parts. Moss has great customer service and may be able to recomend a replacement.

As far as **********, I am still waiting for some parts but did get a call saying my order should be shipping this week. Maybe they will be back to normal soon?
