All,

I’m getting ready for my first start on my Gen 2 Coyote .

Brand new engine that’s 2+ years old.

Got all the fluids an electrical ready.

Other than all the safety checks/prep, any recommendations on priming or initial run time/break in.

Excited and terrified all at the same time.

No need to prime, or break it in. Just be sure you have oil pressure after it starts.

Yes, it is a bit scary. Fortunately Mike Forte stopped by for my first start. I was over thinking everything, in the end it went relatively smooth. Found a missing fuse, then a minor oil line leak, and then it just ran. He tuned it for me as well. Mike is truly a master.

Can't help with the coyote specific stuff, but just take it step by step and you'll be fine. Soon you'll be on the road, plenty of nice twisties out your way.

Ear plugs :) So surprisingly loud (without the sidepipe) that I was in shock a bit. Things started falling off the bench and cabinet... Good luck, just went through the same a couple of months ago. And keep your eye glued on the oil pressure gauge.

Don't forget two helpers, one walking around looking for leaks, one with a camera...

I did prime mine. Just because I wanted to. Used the garden sprayer into the oil sending unit port, it was easy. Did you get a tune? It will need one to run perfect but shouldn't matter on the first start. My top two things would be to check for fuel leaks and watch the oil pressure. There was a very recent post on here with other good ideas:

Thanks all.

I got close this weekend, but saw an opportunity to address on one of my PS hoses.

Need to address, then some family obligations, so maybe in couple weeks ...
