Just a note relating a problem I had with my FITech system. I have a small block 427 with the FITech 600 system built by Mike Forte (i cannot say enough good about Mike, he has been a great help, the engine is awesome as well as his hydraulic clutch and mechanical throttle linkage) I had seen the FITech system at the build school and asked Mike to use this on the engine. It worked well on the dyno for Mike and worked well while go carting in my drive way but getting on the road after getting it road legal I had problems everytime after driving about 20 to 30 minutes. Quick changes in throttle position resulted in engine shut down that would sometimes recover other times not and often would not restart until it cooled down. Data logging showed huge swings in afr, eventually I got a data log that showed the map and vacuum readings to be stuck at one value which led to the diagnosis when i discussed it again with FITech. There is a small rubber seal between the map sensor and the throttle body that was partially collapsing intermittently leading to a erroneous reading, worsening when the material became more compliant with heat, trimming about a millimeter from this seal has solved the issue so far. Silver lining is how much i have learned about efi and trouble shooting in general chasing down this problem. If anybody else is having issues i hope this helps.
