All,
Any simple tricks in calibrating the fuel gauge that comes with the FFR Vintage Gauge Set ?
Thanks

Are you having trouble with the calibration process from the instructions? Below is cut and paste from their directions, with my additional comments in red. They don't specifically say it, but you need the provided cable with the pushbutton plugged into the gauge in order to calibrate. Once done, you can remove the cable and you shouldn't have to use it again. Pretty straightforward.
1. While the gauge is powered up, press and hold the button down for 10-12 seconds until the pointer (needle) points at ‘1/8’ tank then release the button. You are now in calibration mode. Note '1/8' is the factory default so will stop there unless another value has been set. If so it will go to that setting.
2. Press and release button to toggle between available preset resistive ohm range options (see figure 1). The pointer will stop to each available setting with quick button presses. At the desired ohm range, press and hold the button down for 2 seconds to save the ohm range preset. The pointer will then point to ‘E’ and begin and displaying the current fuel level. If using the kit provided Ford Mustang sender, the '7/8' (16-158 ohms) is the one you want.

Had an interesting one happen on a customer car a few months ago. Had sent the car home the previous year and forgotten to set the fuel gauge for the customer. 3 different phone calls/text and we tried every way/settings described in the instructions. No matter what we did it read full or empty, nothing in between and regardless of how much fuel was in the tank. Fast forward to a few months ago and the car was back for some improvements and a new set of wheels/tires. So while we were waiting on powder-coating for the wheels I replaced the fuel level sender and guess what? It didn't help. Same thing, full or empty regardless of the preset. Came in for the evening for dinner frustrated. Was ready to go to bed for the night and it hit me. I never checked the wiring harness. Went back out to the shop and sure enough. What happens if the wires in the Ron Francis harness are reversed going into the sender? I'll tell you. The gauge wire is connected directly to ground and the gauge will only read full or empty depending on the preset setting. Next day, cut, swapped and reconnected the wires and set it to the Ford preset like Paul describes and it's work perfect since.

Yes, bought the push button.

Yes, I am using the EFI kit provided sender. I will use this setting.
Thanks both for the feedback.
