Hopefully I'm putting this in the right place...first time using the forum. I'm building a GTM, ordered a new windshield and they accidentally sent me an 818 windshield. I'm in Chicago...ideally someone buying it would pick it up. I'm not sure how much they are new but if I can get $125 that works for me. Buyer figures out the shipping.

I am interested but am located in Baltimore. Anyone have any suggestions to get the windshield picked up and shipped?

iirc the windshield is from the 2002-2007 mr2... it's probably cheaper to just walk into safelite and get one to go than have one crated and shipped from chicago.

in my experience, Safelight came to my house and replaced the glass only for $120. However, there is the custom FFR frame (I assume it's custom). I don't know how you'd get that outside of used or going to FFR.

Anyone know what FFR is charging for these? I was just curious if the $125 I'm asking for is even a good deal.

Is it just the glass or does it have the surround? If just the glass think you can pick up the glass from a shop for about $100
If it has the surround.. Factory 5s prices are actually pretty reasonable, but shipping is always expensive, so if someone needs it and they can pick it up, it's probably a fair price

I also just received a windshield for my GTM project and I'm curious to know how you discovered it was for an 818. I haven't taken mine out of the package yet...is there some marking somewhere that identified it as an 818?

I opened it up, set it on the car and it was like 5" wider than the opening and the wrong shape. I took a picture and sent it to FFR and they said it was an 818 windshield.

It's crazy that an 818 windshield is wider than a GTM. The GTM is a much bigger car.

Here is the picture I sent them. the car is longer and probably wider at the base...but the top of the car dives in at the top. The windshield is like a trapezoid.
Yikes. I better unpack my windshield and measure it.
