Good morning! Having just acquired a complete FF5 kit from the wife of a friend, we loaded up the chassis, parts boxes and took the to GAR (George Alderman Racing) shop to begin the build. After going through everything we determined that we had everything until we started to complete the front suspension. The previous owner had assembled most of the front suspension but when we started to check the bump/steer, we couldn’t get the right side to extend to its lowest position.
After scratching our heads I realized that the ball joint’s carrier was installed wrong. The carrier has a welded link and a clevis tang and is identical to the other side’s carrier. We flipped it over, reinstalled the ball joint and solved the problem.
Now for the IRS install.
