I searched the forum and did not see this discussed before so I wanted to ask a question of the team. I'm a looking at the new FF cobra and priced everything out with options and it comes in right at $32k (complete kit w/options), add $7k for paint and I'm now setting at around $39k. When I price a Backdraft out I'm coming in at around $42k (optioned at the same level), so there's only a 3K difference. What are my advantages for the FF? I like the idea of controlling the quality and build but had pressed to say that the time and labor is only worth $3k. I'm really open to feedback from the group since IMHO you are the subject matter experts for me! Thanks everyone for you help!!!!

I see a couple of reasons, and others will start to chime in too. First just look at the chassis set up, second have to love the aluminum cockpit, great customer support, and you have this site where you can come and get any question answered in a matter of hours. Plus you get to chat with all of us, and we're a great bunch. Oh and don't call it a cobra......Mr. $$$$$$ will get upset and cry ;)

Your use of terminology sounds suspiciously like a Six Sigma / Lean guy. If that is where you are coming from, then the answer will never quite have a satisfying result. There is a "priceless factor" (you know, like in the commercials). The 3k labor is always going to seem devalued if you look at it from that perspective.
But I can tell you from my experience that the project turns out to be a lot more than you think it is when you started. It really is a life altering experience. I think that's why many chronicle their builds with blogs and websites because it really is something special (something you don't want to forget). If you don't want that adventure or "journey", you should probably not do it, IMHO. WEK.
