First cars and coffee

Did my first car and coffee today. That was a lot of fun and spent a lot of time talking to car guys about cars. Amazing how our cars draw immediate attention even though there were many high value cars there.
Lots of positive feedback on my car, and the quote of the day was:
“Look a Datsun with a Cobra motor”

My friend Jerry has a Gen-1 Daytona and when we are at shows, it seems that only dudes over 50 know what it is.
I guess since only six (6) were originally made, people have no idea what it is...Also, last summer my MK-4 was a rock star at the limited events we attended even though it wasn't painted plus the interior was incomplete and it wasn't sporting the bumpers or grill either...I think the magic is that people realize that you built it from scratch, while all of the other cars at the event were just modified or high dollar purchases.

I agree, the bought cars are cool but numerous!
Cool challenger but there were 4 of them, cool mustang but there where 6 of them etc.

A few years back, my Daytona ended up being parked next to a late model Corvette. After about an hour of his car being totally ignored while there was usually a crowd about mine, he fired up his Corvette and left the show. I loved it!

Never even gave it any thoughts! I've had that chair for probably 18 years. But from now on it will be completely purposeful if asked! :cool:
