Hi,
I'm a new member of this forum. I've been a member of the other forum since 2002 as Robert D, just new to this forum. I've signed on here as Rdone585 because I'm rebadging my car. I've been using the number 29 for more than 15 years. I'm switching to 585 hoping not to conflict with the many others wanting to track their cars with the number 29. I originally built my MK II in 2002 in north Tampa, FL. and started running on the track with the Deep South Cobra Club. I soon was talked into becoming the VP as we continued to have more, bigger and better car shows, rides, events, and track days. Our largest event had 75 replicas and included many fun days of events including a track day at Sebring. In 2008 my job moved to Milwaukee, WI. We moved to Colgate in Washington county about 20 miles NW of Milwaukee. I've been attending Northwoods Shelby Club track days as much as I'm able. This last winter I decided to take the car body off to do some repairs and have the car repainted. I did many updates to the frame, electronics, new Kirkey seats, and replaced the carpet. The car previously was silver with white stripes, it is now 2020 GT500 magnetic metallic with white and lime green stripes. Thanks to a local professional engine builder, I also may have one of the only dry sump motors with the oil tank located in the engine bay. I recently retired so I have a little more time on my hands, look forward to our conversations, and hopefully some day meeting some of you in person.
Robert
