Did any of you need to grind down the side window flange to get the weatherstrip to fit properly?
My flange measures 0.3” thick, the weatherstrip opening looks like to fit properly the flange would need to be thinned down to 0.15”.
Did you use the FF weatherstrip or buy something different?

Agreed. I pushed the weatherstrip on and the flange is definitely thicker in some places as compared to others. This creates a bulge and is just too much thickness. So my current plan is to sand down just those bulging areas so the thickness is consistent. Interested in other's actions and results....

I got frustrated with mine after the second attempt and the strip banana'd, decided to make my own out of aluminum angle, see my build thread #391 (https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?26293-Black-amp-Copper-33-Hot-Rod-1028) and I have pics there if interested, I have more as well. Really happy with the end result
I rounded the fiberglass flange edges and then used a wood spreader in the weather strip groove to make it easier to push on.

Andreas, I think we're talking about the hard top as opposed to the top of the door. Your customization on the door top was perfect, following a similar route myself.

Yes, the seal that’s on the side of the roof for the side windows.
However AJT, I’m glad posted that info. I may do the same thing.
I’ve got the top of the doors marked per the manual but remember someone saying the slot needs to be wider.
I have this other flange that I don’t see in the manual. It’s 38” long.
Where does this one go?

Those look like the vertical channel felts for the power windows.
There's a u shaped channel that mounts to the internal door frame near the front of each door, the window glass runs in this channel and those felts line the inside of it.

Steve is correct, they go in the verticals to guide the window going up. You can change the window angle using the channels so that it seats better against the hard top felt.
As to the opening, don't widen it until you have everything in place, its easier to make it wider as you setup the window/hard top alignment than to try and figure out how to add it back in should you need to do so.

Steve and Andreas, thanks for the info.
Probably will remove the doors to make cuts, then struggle to get them aligned again.

Jim, why take them off to make the cuts? I just opened the door and used a saber saw to make the cuts, super easy. Unfortunately I did have to take the doors off to get all the power window bits assembled onto the door frames but not to make the cuts.

Steve, I didn’t want to get all of that fiberglass all over the interior of the car.
The doors have to be removed to get the power windows installed??

I decided to ditch most of the FF window frame/track parts and bought all of the parts needed to build the aluminum window frame.
HD had all the aluminum, the other parts I got from Rock Auto and McMaster-Carr.
If I can find the file that (I think) Tim Collins made I’ll update it with all of the HD p/n’s.
I trimmed the opening so the seal would cover to body and ground the lip to fit the seal. The problem is in top. On windows i added a track for glass in door front and washers to move top of window in and out to fit seal in top. My top is permenit, you may have to look at this if your top is on and off.

1932, my top will be permanent. Your right, it would look better if the window seal went up to the edge of the body.
Another thing to add to the list and think about doing.

On grinding to fit seal inside of top is a transition little back from half , that is tricky.

1932, that looks good.
I guess another option would be to not cut the flange and paint it black to match the weatherstrip.
