Just picked up my MK3 from a gentleman in Iowa. The car was started in 2008, but never finished. The second owner finished the car two years ago. The 351, Tremec 5 speed, and entire car had 1200 miles. I’m 6’3” and bought this car, thanks to members of this site letting me know I could fit comfortably with a little work. I can drive it with my shoes off, but have the low back vintage Kirkey seats in route. Got the car out tonight for the first time. Absolutely the most fun car I’ve ever owned. I have wanted a cobra since before I could drive... over 30 years ago. Just hoping to have a source for ideas and trouble shooting should I have questions. Thanks for the add!!!

Welcome to the madness. Sounds like you’re already making the car your own. This forum is a great source of information. Be careful though, we can spend your money faster than your significant other. You won’t even know it’s happening.

I’d love to meet you Mike. I own a Harley Repair shop on Hwy W, Spokes Garage. Give me a call or stop by sometime. Love to see your car.

LOL. Well I am wanting some wheels, tires, and a few other things. So let’s spend away.

Ladies & Gentlemen, I think we have a challenge. Give us an idea of what you have in mind or use the search function. There's no shortage of information on tires and wheels. Biggest factor is what you plan to do with the car. Track, autocross, drag strip, or a combination of all that and street driving.

This is my after work, run for ice cream, or a cold one with the wife car. I think I’d like to have the 17” vintage style wheels staggard with the 315 rear tire.

Welcome to the group Ants65,
As Mike said earlier, Gateway Cobra Club out of st. Louis is coming down to Harrison 10/15 - 10/18. We usually do daily cruises while we're visiting and Mike has joined us for a couple. We'll probably be staying at the Hampton Inn, but no firm details yet.
It's a lot of fun and we'd enjoy having you join us or meet us for an evening.

As to the wheels & tires, the 17" FFR Halibrands are great. Good looks, perfect fit, and good performance.

Ants65, The 17 inch rim with the 315 tire is awesome. I have that setup using the 555G2. Rides really well. Grips well also.

That’s just about 30 miles south of us. We will make every effort to be there. Thank you so much. The more I learn... and drive this car, the more I love it.

Welcome aboard. I'm still learning all of this also. Still building my ride. First start and drive was this last Sunday. What a blast! My Son lives just south of you in Highlandville. He is a paramedic for Taney County. Hopefully you never meet him professionally. One of these days when we head over that way for a visit maybe we can meet up and I can see that beauty up close. I went with the 17" FFR halibrands. Look great and handled well out of the gate. Good luck.

I will eventually go to the hailbrand wheels. The car already had the Bullitt style wheels. I just replaced the nine inch rears with matching10.5” wheels and went to the 315 rear tires. Looks like a totally different car. The stance is so nice.
