View Full Version : Equal length exhaust hangs low
I’m waiting for my appointment with State Police Salvage for my VIN #. One concern left to fix. My equal length exhaust manifold protrudes 1 3/8” below the lowest other point on the car. It scrapes the asphalt occasionally where the 2 pieces join. There is plenty of room above the low point of the manifold for it to be out of the way. Maybe this clearance isn’t an issue in a WRX so all aftermarket manifolds will be this way or maybe mine is the only problem. Can I buy a different manifold and cure this instantly? If so, please recomend a brand and model.

There are several posts about this under engine and transmission. Sounds like Perrin does not hang below chassis.
Anybody buy an equal length manifold that does not hang below the chassis? The Perrin ones start at $ 1,2000.00

I don’t recall mine hanging low before I pulled it off. It’s sitting in storage, I can go pull measurements sometime this week.

I have the small tube Perrin. it doesn't appear to hang very far down... i can measure off the block if you'd like.
you can get them around $900 when they are on sale. I picked up a set for $300 used (just needed a little aluminum foil treatment)
