What I have is a MK4, 351 based engine, short headers, J pipes because of the fuel injection wide band sensor, and FFR stainless side pipes. The side pipes are pretty close to were I think they should be. They are parallel to the body and level front to back with the ground. The bottom of the side pipe at the wide part is about 1" below the bottom of the body and 1" above the bottom of the 4" tube. Think my ride height is 4 1/2 rear and 4" in front.
The problem I'm having is with the rear mounting brackets/hangers.

The passenger side mounting bracket is too low and without pushing up on the side pipe I won't be able to get the rubber hanger high enough to screw into the 2x2 frame tube.

The driver side the mounting bracket is too high and hits the bottom of the body.

I know I can raise 1 side pipe and lower the other but that's not right.

I'm thinking of drilling out the mounting bracket holes a little larger to give the bracket more vertical range.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

You can try using 1/4x20 bolts on the rear side pipe hangars. That and drilling bigger holes as you stated above should solve the issue and give you a little more adjustability.
