So don't like the FFR supplied mirrors for the side or the rear view. I kind of have an elliptical/oval theme going on and was thinking of either the Hagan or Billet Specialties pieces. Both are kind of small but I guess this isn't a big car so you can't have massive mirrors anyway, would look way funny.
The Billet ones are 2-5/16" x 4-3/16" Oval
The Hagan are 4-3/4 x 1-3/4. 1-3/4 high seems tiny...
Any feedback or thoughts on either of these? Some of you have said you love the Hagan Fatties (convex for broader field of view). Not sure I'm sold on that, doesn't make sense for the internal rear view does it? Did you go with the Fatties on both sides?....
Other than colour, hoping this is about the last decision to make...
THanks for the help and suggestions
Steve

Thanks for the response. I had looked at those some time ago and quite like them. The question I was asking myself was does the style match my build? If I was painting the grill and the roadster windshield so it was kind of that "all paint" look then I would say yes. Mind you, it's not like they look like they don't go. The size of the VF2 is nice.

Steve - You are correct with the Hagan Fatties, they are small, but they do give a really good view with limited vibration (which will be important). I used Fatties on both the DS and the PS. I also have one as a rearview (flat) and have just purchased a second to install on the Roadster Windshield frame (if you use as rearviews you will likely need some adapters as well to get the angle you require). With regards to the rearview mirror, what you will find is that almost any mirror is going to theoretically appear larger than your rear window. I went with Fattie as a rearview to minimize the amount of view blocked in the Front Windshield by the mirror. All are mounted soundly, offer above average vision during the day, at night it becomes a little more difficult to see with headlights (but I am in between a left and right eye cataract surgery at the moment). I have be honest with you, I find myself mainly using my mirrors to watch my fenders as I am backing up (since they stick out further than the car itself). If I were going to do it over again, I would go Hagan and their quality is just second to none...but that is my $0.02 .

Mirror Choice Is Definitely A Hard One & The Hotrod Is Likely The Toughest Candidate Regarding Mirror Style & Finish!
Get it right and you nail the look, but get it wrong and it looks like you've got Dumbo or Mickey Mouse Ears on your ride.
Personally I feel like the Hotrod is the toughest car to execute because of the endless styling possibilities.
Good luck on your quest because we all know that every last detail is important.
Maybe one of these mirror options might be of interest to you, or not:

Well, the Admiral was consulted and has spoken.
She decided on these gems from Billet Specialties. Will give a better view than the ovals, yet goes well with the oval theme, and the metal (vs paint) support and "housing" goes with the overall look of the build....

Make sure you mount on the door and not the cowl! People will want to use them to help themselves out of the car if they are reachable with the door open.

Good point. Not too much vibration? I'm already noticing the temptation to pull yourself out of the car using the roadster windshield, not good.

Not bad, the passengers side vibrates just a bit, but not enough to be an issue.

These are the mirrors I used on a customers car. He picked them out. If interested, I can find out where he got them from?

Hey Henry, I would be very interested in them as I cannot get a good adjustment on my passenger side mirror and cannot see the side of the car, still good for lane changes but not optimal.

Thread hi-jack: I like the fenders on this 33, not from FFR? Custom made? What tyres would fit under those?
Thanks

Nice choice. Post some pics once you're done fitting them.
I went with mirrors off a Harley -- they fit my bad to the bone theme for my car. Don't be afraid to think outside the box. Motorcycle mirrors can work on a car too. Also made my front fenders out of a Harley rear fender.
