good news is the motor is in. Bad news I'm pretty sure I either got the wrong motor mounts or their swapped.

Attached are photos, is this placement normal?

Motor is a 351

That's looks wrong. I think you do have the engine mounts swapped or the wrong mounts. Your motor mounts also look a bit different than mine. Were these included in the kit?

Too far forward.

Looking at my 351w Mk4 - the front motor mount bolts (on engine) should not be more than 1.25" forward of the front face of the frame welded motor mounts.

The forward face of the harmonic balancer should not be forward of the back face of the 4" cross member.

You're going to run out of room for bringing the sidepipe / header through the fender.

P.S. That's measured off mine which is already cheated forward 1/2" ~ 3/4" to keep the scattershield off the diagonal frame member near the starter (made my own custom solid motor mounts).

I don’t know what mounts you have there (they are definitely not the usual Energy Suspension ones) but The engine block mount pads and their relationship to the chassis motor mount pedestals indicate that you have them on the wrong sides. In addition to the studs the mounts SHOULD have a pin that registers with slots in the chassis pedestals—-below the stud on the driver’s side and to the rear of the stud on the passenger side.

So why did you install them like that? You asked in a previous post and advice was given about having them on the wrong side, and picture of the correct position was posted. So, either those mounts aren't the correct ones or you missed the advice given.

Thanks, I swapped the motor mounts and the engine sits as normal. I could have sworn I mounted the mounts per my previous post however they weren't. Thabks for the comments guys.
