Prototype of new shock mount. Increases rear rise height approximately 5/8"
Allows more adjustment on rear spring, without having to crank on adjuster so tight.
Allows more shock droop travel.
Should be less expensive to manufacture.
Let me know what you think.

Hi Ted,

If we already have the First version of the Rear Shock Mount, would you say that we're probably good, or is this another upgrade from that? It looks like a really solid part (as all of your parts do). I'm getting ready to switch out the shocks as soon as I get the car back. So that would be a good time to make the switch, if needed.

Hey Stig, You are fine with the steel mounts, unless you need more ride height adjustment. When I designed the 1st gen., I matched the FFR mounting points, one reason I made them out of steel.
Seems now that we are running out of height adjustment/shock travel - so the updated design.
Also the steel mounts are a PITA to build!

How are you getting more ride height adjustment and more droop? If the bottom shock mount is closer to the control arm, by how much?

Hey Mike, the new design raises the mounting point approx 3/8" higher off the control arm than the 1st gen. With the motion ratio of the suspension, that equates to about 5/8" more ride height by just changing mounts.

I cant seem to find this version on the quickracingproducts site.

The old version is there, which is fine. So i might go for that. I posted a thread on the other forum asking for who produced this, guess i found out here ha ha

I heard thru the grapevine that Ted thought the original all steel versions were too complicated to efficiently produce. Probably what led to the machined parts. I have never seen any of those machined versions in real life so no real answer as to whether they are available or not, but I do believe Ted was looking for an easier way to produce these.
