I am just now trying to install my wheel well splash guards. None seem to closely follow the contour of the fenders with the rubber seal installed. Not even close. Am I missing something here? I am thinking of cutting new ones or splicing pieces onto the existing ones. Or is it acceptable to have large gaps? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Mine fit fairly well in the rear fender wells after trimming, but the fronts do have some gaps. I have driven in the rain and it hasn’t seemed to make a big difference.

Make sure there is still a significant bent crease in the front splash guards. Sometimes during shipping they flatten out and wil give the false impression that they don't fit. I actually cut one of mine by mistake because I thought it didn't fit. For the other side I re-introduced more bend at the crease and it fit perfectly.

Don't give up too easily. The fit is quite dependent on exactly how you locate them, angle, etc. Especially the front ones. You may need to adjust the bend some and then play with the location. Should be possible to install with little/no gaps. Trimming or adding should be the last resort.
