Anyone know if this is normal? TR3650 5 speed, replaced clutch and throw out bearing before installing trans. The clutch fork doesn’t engage the throw out bearing until there is only about a 1/2 inch of clearance left between the fork arm and the bell housing (see pics).130245130246

Sounds like you have too short of a clutch pivot ball.
Make sure the throw out bearing is installed correctly too. https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1SQJL_enUS833US833&sxsrf=ALeKk01a77TBvzlZsw9LnhsO6bl2O9Kg0w%3A1592673 713964&ei=sUXuXsi0OuGzggej3JGYBQ&q=how+to+install+a+throwout+bearing+mustang&oq=install+a+throwout+&gs_lcp=CgZwc3ktYWIQARgBMgYIABAWEB4yBggAEBYQHjoECAA QRzoECCMQJzoCCAA6BwgAEBQQhwI6BQgAEJECOggIABCxAxCRA joFCAAQsQM6BQgAEIMBOgoIABCxAxAUEIcCOgQIABBDOgcIABC xAxBDOgcIIxDqAhAnOgoIABCRAhBGEPkBUIoyWJ2KAWCEnAFoA XABeACAAfMBiAGKG5IBBjM5LjIuMpgBAKABAaoBB2d3cy13aXq wAQo&sclient=psy-ab#kpvalbx=_NknuXvPRCIuRggfPu7uoBA29

I didn’t realize there were different lengths on the pivot ball. Note this engine transmission combo came directly out of a 2002 donor. As far as I know the clutch was supposed to be a direct replacement.
