Will the FFR Vinyl mk4 dash work in the 289? I believe yes but 99% has cost me money plenty of times.
Thanks
Victor

VictorWhen I inquired to FFR, I was told "yes."
Only the holes are different.

Dave B. from factory five just called me and told me the dash would not fit.

I have the 289 kit but didnt use the supplied dash. I bought a blank aluminum MK4 dash panel for the 289 so I could located my own guage openings. The MK4 blank aluminum had to be trimmed slightly at the edges but it fit fine. I’m wondering why the vinyl dash doesnt fit. Did Dave B from FFR tell you why it wouldn’t fit?

He didn't tell me why he just said it wouldn't. They have a 289 specific dash with the regular gauge layout but it isn't available in the vinyl.

He might mean the 289 FIA dash? If so, yes that is a completely different gauge layout. I used that, but most seem to use a more street style layout.
I would think that size-wise any dash that fits the MKIV would fit the 289. You might want to call him again to clarify.

I've sent him another email to triple check.
We had 2 separate phone conversations regarding it and he says the mk4 dash is not the same as the 289. I have sent an email for one more round of verification, it's late in the day but I will let you know what he says.

Confirmed. Engineering says it does not fit. They need to get their answers straight.
I was specifically told the dashes are interchangeable.
Maybe something changed.

Gentlemen,
Erik Treves is the fellow that I'd reach out to.
He has built many Factory Fives including the very 1st 289 which was displayed at SEMA to debut that model back in 2014.
Mr. Treves one of the best hobbyist builders out there so I know he'd know for sure regarding what will and what won't fit.
