Just went to FFR yesterday and met with Tony and bought a MK4 Roadster, being form the great state of Maryland, I would like to talk to anyone who has registered in this state and what pitfalls I can learn to avoid. The state inspection I think I have covered, the emissions concern me. Has anyone dealt with our beloved state beauracracy.

Do a search, it has been covered, though may be a bit dated. From what I remember from the forum, no emissions required, though some have had issues initially. I'm in MD and been at building for nearly 10 years, but look forward to registering this year. Also, be careful on state inspection - state police have to do the initial one, but then there is the inspection at a garage. Some got caught on inspectors that don't know the car, or the law. Think I remember a garage was mentioned in Rockville. Search is pretty good on the forum, should be able to find info...just thinking I should have bookmarked them!!

I'm getting close to having my Mk IV ready for MVA inspection in MD too. My understanding is that the MVA is starting to open up and I'll need an appointment for inspection and VIN. I'll then get a 30 day registration and drive it to Auto Italia in Rockville for safety inspection and final alignment. Aftet that I can receive my permanent registration. I'll drive it around in gel coat while I find a shop to do final body work and paint. Fun times ahead!

Caddy Daddy, please keep us posted on how you make out with MVA, I did not get wipers on my kit but will get them when I pick up my car if the state is going to hold me up. Outside of Cats for emissions or noise the cars should go right through. Also has anyone found a good place to insure them, or I should say reasonable place to insure.
