Hello to all, I hope everyone is doing well. I have the hood fitted although I still have to fine tune the hinges and pistons to get it to work right. I decided to cut the side engine covers so i can have the front portion mounted at all times with headlight and i probably will not install the back portion and just leave it open. The problem is the hinge for the hood hits the side cover so i can't get the top portion of the cover to fit tight against the grill. I'm pretty sure i have the hinges installed right according to what i can decipher from the instructions, but maybe not? Also, from what i can tell looking at photos of others i need to cut off the 1" wide portion on the bottom of the hood, correct? Any advice will be great and I appreciate it!

I cut my side panels exactly like you did. I intend to make flanges on them and have the side panels temovebale without having to take the lights off to do so. First, I had to thin the pad that it mounts to the grill to pull the top in and get it flush. My hinges didn’t hit the part but I did have to make some wedge shaped spacers for my headlight mounts to get the angle of the small panel eight to follow the right direction and match up to the hood. And then, I also had to trim that extra below the body hip like to make it match up. I would post pics but it’s all taken apart right now. There are some in my build thread.

Think about upgrading to gen 2 hinges. They less than 400$ from ffr and operation don’t drag the hood across your paint job relying on 10 cent felt strips. Im in the middle of swapping mine out now. Might finish that up tomorrow.
