I have run into some confusion about wiring up my fuel pump. The manual says the Ford Performance engine harness 16 pin connector has the fuel pump wire in it. The manual says that the green wire from the 16 pin connector needs to be run to the back of the fuse box and connected to the cut orange wire. Looking at that 16 pin connector I see a light green wire on one side of the connector and on the other side of the connector is a blue wire. Also the 16 pin connector has a green wire that connects to a light blue wire. So what wire do I splice into the orange wire on the back side of the fuse box?

Another problem is with the 6 way connector on the ECM harness. The manual says to hook the 6 way pigtail into it then to attach the blue starter wire to the blue EFI wire and the light green ignition wire to the orange EFI wire. But where does the very long green wire in the pigtail attach to?

Thanks for your help.

Ok, let's take them separately:

6-way I/P Pigtail Connector: For the Gen 3 control pack, this connector has three wires in it:

- Large green Fuel Pump Relay Out -> Spliced onto RF harness fuel pump wiring at fuse panel, per FFR Coyote instructions.

- Light Blue Starter Motor Request (SMR) -> Spliced onto RF harness Blue EFI Crank Power wire.

- Light Green Ignition Relay Trigger (lighter color and much smaller gauge than the fuel pump relay wire) -> FFR instructions say to connect to RF orange EFI/Coil wire. That works and is fine. On my last build I used the 10 amp tan choke wire (also has +12 volts any time the key is on) and instead used the RF 15 amp orange EFI/Coil wire for my heated seats. Doesn't matter. Just so the Coyote Light Green Ignition Relay Trigger gets +12V with the key on. Wakes up the system and will keep it running as long as the voltage is present.

16-way connector:

This one plugs into the matching connector on the engine harness and that's it. You don't splice into or disturb any of those wires. The FFR Gen 3 instructions on page 94 does say "The fuel pump wire is in the Ford Performance 16 pin connector." That unfortunately is incorrect and appears to be a leftover from the previous generation control packs that had a 16-pin connector for the pigtail instead of the 6-way used in the Gen 3. Described above. The text in the FFR instructions should say "6-way I/P Pigtail Connector."

Hopefully that helps.
