Need Help. I have a 2009 MK3.1 Roadster. Discovered a brake fluid leak in the drive side rear caliber, coming from the e-brake shaft. Replaced both rear caliber and bracket with a Power Stop Unit, S4824A. Parts looked the same and assembled the same as original parts. Return original parts to Summit, core charge refund. Could not assemble e-brake cable to caliber. Interference with mounting bolt that hold caliber bracket to spindle bracket. Remove bolt and attached e-brake cable to caliber. Could not push bolt through spindle bracket mounting hole. There is about 1/16” interference with metal portion on e-brake cable and bolt hole. Has anyone seen this problem? Did I purchase the wrong parts? How do I fix it?
Thanks, Bruce47.

Same problem you had, 2008 Mark 3.1. I found a post back then to resolve the interference, requires going to a cap head bolt in that location, counterboring the adapter bracket, and grinding some material off the spindle to make caliper removal possible without removing the rotor. If you are in the San Francisco Bay area be glad to modify your bracket for you.

It is a common problem on early Mk4's and Mk3's. I had mine counter-bored so the top of the bolt head sits about even with the surface of the mounting plate similar to SJDave's. For me it only took a small counter bore to free up that space.

Thanks for the information and pictures. Your solution looks easier than slotting the caliber mounting holes and adding a spacer on the e-brake side. SJDave, thanks for the offer but I live in Tucson, AZ. Will look for local machine.
