So i THINK this is a new product by wilwood
https://www.wilwood.com/brakekits/BrakeKitListRear?mincatdesc=Electronic%20Parking%2 0Brake%20Rear%20Retrofit%20Brake%20Kit

this would solve so many issues for me considering I have to relocate my parking brake anyways due to the size of my transmission.
My only concern is about fitment in regards to how the caliper is close to the rear spring.

Does anyone have any experience with these?

at longest its 5.36" and minimum 4.24" (from rotor) it seems to closely resemble the size of the cabled versions but just wanted to gather more knowledge before I pull the trigger

No experience, but wow that's a lot of money. Might want to look into E-STOPP

May be a bit, but e-stopp is still pretty pricey, requires cables, and doesn't really aid in my requirement to relocate the parking brake since im assuming it has to be placed in pretty close proximity to where the parking brake is? (dont really know much about it)
not to mention i could probably re sell my unused ebrake calipers and cables for some cost

E-Stopp can be installed anywhere you can fit it. Here's where I'm planning to install the E-Stopp in my roadster:

Yes, you still need to run the parking brake cables to it though. I've seen several other builders mount their E-Stopp in the top of the trans tunnel.

My first reaction to your post was "oh, cool!" and then I saw the price and was like "oh, s&^%!"

Others including myself have built their own using a linear actuator and making a bracket to hold it. I think I paid $130 for one on Amazon - has a 2 inch stroke and 400 lb pull force. There are hundreds available in every size, shape , etc. I am using it on a hotrod and it is not finished but testing so far it seems to work great. Will try to post pics and a link later.

Wish I would of seen this a month ago. Looks like I will be removing that ugly e-brake and installing the E-Stopp when my car returns from paint.

Just finished E-stopp on my Hotrod PU. I did use the Lokar Thunderbird cables. They can be shortened to fit exactly. A local fabricator, made me brackettes for 10 bucks, 16 Guage SS.

I'M happy with it. 129025

I just chopped of the parking brake bracket to make room for the t56. I will probably go for the Wilwood e brakes even though they are way too expensive. I believe they will bolt right on to the brackets for my cable operated Wilwoods. Will have to measure clearance to make sure they clear the springs, but just looking at them I think there is room.

Late model Stingrays have an electric park brake actuator. Here is an ebay used one.

Old post, but if this is what I think it is. Then, I’m getting it. So, no cables? Just wire it up?

I installed the wilwood epb on my type 65 and love it. Easy to install and fits perfect. When you turn the switch and engage the parking brake it locks the wheels up really good, best parking brake I have ever had. You will need to swap the calipers from one side to the other so they fit. I think I have a video of the install on my YouTube channel. Cobra Daytona Build.

Added it to my parts to buy list. Nice video, thanks!

Yes I have used it, but not in a Factory Five. I am restomoding a 70 Mustang Mach 1. I hate parking brake cables, so when I say the retrofit electronic parking brake I started considering it. The Summit Racing price was far lower than the Wilwood retail price and when they offered a $100 buck back offer on a $1000 spent, I went for it. My original Wilwood kit had a internal shoe drum style parking brake. I completely gutted the drum parking brake components. The Wilwood electronic parking brake does not come with bracketry, so that is left up to the user. I looked at how the Wilwood brake caliper was mounted and saw they have the same mounting pattern on the opposite side of the backing plate. I first make up my spacer and bracket in hardwood to verify the design I made up. I then transferred the design to hard aluminum for the final version. The electronic brake calipers mount up just fine so the mechanical design is done. I have not tried the system as my car is not the far along. If you have Wilwood brakes in the rear of your car, the work I did can be used as a guide. If you have OEM style rear disk brakes, you would be starting from scratch. Wilwood does produce a full brake kit for the rear of the late model Mustang GT Coyote style IRS, but that is the only direct fit system for the FF that I have seen.
If you would like to see pics, PM me and I can provide them to you. I did have access to a friend locally that has a mill and knows how to use it. The mill work was necessary to get the required thickness for the spacer. If you do not have access to a mill and can do some simple 2D CAD work, I recommend you do not go this direction.

I use and sell a ton of the electronic park brake kits. I will have it available for my pinion park brake kits soon.
Alan, the electronic park brake full kit is available for that application now. 140-16142

Yup. Just switch sides of the calipers, and you'll be OK. Mine work great, love them.

Gordon: Thanks for the heads up but I am happy with my solution. At the time I contacted Wilwood about the retrofit kit, they did not sound optimistic about making full retrofit kits with brackets. They said too many applications to start down that road. When we talked, I shared that Wilwood tech support was useless and their engineering department would not talk with me. I found it quite odd that they did not want to or couldn't answer relatively simple questions regarding the electronic parking brake retrofit kits. Seem like they would loose customers with the approach they took to supporting their product.
Anyway with a few answers from you to my basic questions I put together my mounting solution.

You do a good job with your solution. A lot of times it's better or easier to talk with someone like myself who knows the right people to talk to and has access to all the back doors.
