I got together a throttle linkage from Mike but discovered an issue with one of the bell crank on the rod (at least I hope I got the terminology right - “Bell cranks” are those two things that shafts to a carburetor and a pedal are connectEd to, and they are sitting on the rod. I attached the image where I highlighted the parts that i think are called “bell crank”.

So one of those cranks slips when I push the pedal hard, no matter how hard I tie them down with a bolt that came with it. How do I mitigate this? Thanks!

If the carb butterflies are going full open and are at the stops, then you will overpower the linkage, and something will give. In this case, slipping on the shaft. A lot of people use a throttle pedal stop, so that the pedal will hit the stop just prior to the carb butterfly shaft hitting it's stop at full open.

That may not be the problem, but a good place to start.

I'm assuming that you are talking about where the throttle bracket secures to the SS rod? If so, I never really had an issue with the set screw and some blue loctite holding it, but you can also drill a small hole and pin it to through the rod if it still slips. Each bracket already has a drilled hole for this. Just make sure that you use a cobalt drill bit, some cutting oil and take it slow at low drill rpm. If you try to drill it too fast, the stainless steel will heat, then harden and it will be a bear to drill through. Ask me how I know..:)

Once I got mine set to where I liked it I drilled and tapped all the way through and installed a bolt to pin it. I think I used 10-32.

You can also grind a small flat spot on the shaft for the set screw to seat against.

Could your bellcranks be bottoming out against the firewall? It looks like they have a short travel space.
Very good point about a throttle stop. Guess what takes the load without one. The linkage on the carb throttle shaft.
I have seen these floppy loose, from too much travel and force.

Like the others have stated. Also, it looks like the linkage in the footwell might be too high when you place the top panel on.

We tried it and it looks like it fits, plus we are going make it custom anyway because we extended DS foot box a bit. But yeah, seems that throttle pedal stop is a solution to this problem.
