I met a guy that recently bought an older Cobra, he thinks it was the first generation. It needed work so he got a good deal.
The seats that came with it are hi-back seats that have sliders, the back tilts, and has speakers in the top.
The construction of them is much better than my seats, a little heavier too.
He wants to swap seats with me, my seats are lower. He's 6'2" so his head would not be way above the windshield.
I took one home to try it in my hotrod. It does fit pretty well.
Do any of you recognize this seat or possibly what it came out of?

I had some very similar with the speakers in the headrest that came out of a Mini Cooper. I installed the in a real 1935 pickup I built into a hot rod. Very comfortable and also had a pump up bladder for your back.

Looks porsche-esque — late 80s/90s

My guess is early Mazda Miata. That was a popular choice back when the FFR Hot Rod first hit the market. They were used in Roadsters, Coupes and Hot Rods. I was considering them when my build was in the planning stage, but ended up buying the FFR "Big and Tall" (old, fat guy) seats instead after sitting in one at Build School. Keith HR #894

Bingo, thanks guys.
I found pics of the '90-96 Mazda Miata, same seats.
They are about 3/8" too wide at the pivot point where the back meets the seat bottom.
I think I can modify the sides of the waterfall so they will fit properly.
Update....
If I swap the seats, drivers seat on pass side, etc, the seatback levers will be on the insides and not hitting the sides of the waterfall, no modifications necessary!

How wide can the seats be? Is there a difference (If at all) between the front and the rear of the seat?

The front of the seat bottom is usually wider than the back part of the seat.
How wide, depends on if your going to make a console that goes between the seats.

I think the console would need to be matched to the seats... not the otherway around!
Anyway thanks for your reply!
Still curious how much space there is for the seats between the sills and the trans/driveshaft tunnel...
