I had my roadster on the road late last summer into mid-fall. Then the body came off and back onto the buck and I did body work over the winter. While on the road the doors, hood, and trunk all fit very well.
Now it is painted and I had my buddies over last Saturday and we put the body back on the chassis. Now I have fitment problems. Not with the hood nor the trunk but with the drivers door (haven't tried the passenger one yet) and where the pipes exit the body on the passengers side. Backside of the pipes fit tight against the body and the body can only move a slight bit inwards to be bolted to the frame. The front bumper setup seems to be fine, as well. Yes, the windshield is in place.
Everywhere else seems to be fine.

What went wrong, do you think?

Thanks.

Check that there is nothing obstructing the body rocker curl under from going all the way in. During one of my test fits of the body one of the plastic end caps on the 2x2 down frame at the door front came off. It blocked the body from moving to the correct position.

If nothing is obstructing the body then give it some time to settle into position. The bodies are not exactly solid and will conform to the frame they’re on over time.

Remember that the hood and trunk are fixed openings; however, the doors opening clearances can be opened or closed depending on where the front and rear of the car is sitting.

Nose up and/or tail up, you close the gap.

Nose down and/or tail down and your gaps open up.

Check closely your positioning on body, especially the height of the front of the car as to where it is sitting.

Give it a few more days to settle and re-adjust. 650 and I never expect one to not need some tweeking when I reassemble .
