Howdy guys,
I have have an older build Mark II (a whole other story) that I'm trying to finish up the wiring on. I'm installing a 1 wire Alternator that I planed on running a 4 AWG wire from the Alt. to the Solenoid on the mini starter. I have two other wires coming from the painless fuse box (916) & (915). I ohmed these two out and they are a dead short. I'm thinking I don't need (915) 10 AWG going to the Alternator?? Should I terminate like the drawing says? Should I put a Mega fuse between the Solenoid and the Alternator.
I'm also omitting (914)excitor. Don't need that one.

Appreciate your help.128460

My personal opinion, ditch the tractor alternator and install a compact 3G alternator.

I may have forgot this, but I believe the 915 & 916 need to be connected. Both supply different buss bars in the fuse panel. I would still add one from Alt. to Starter (bat) lug. Also wouldn't just cut 914, but leave it wound up for a future use. I also don't use a Mega Fuse and if I did it wouldn't be the Painless one because it's proprietary.

Thanks weendoggy! So did you use any fuse between starter and fuse box? And no fuse / breaker between Alt and starter? I planned on keep any unused wired tucked away under the loom for future use. Like the AC.
By the way, I believe we met many years ago up at Lake Tahoe.
Appreciate your help

No. I'm not a fan of a Mega Fuse, but that's up to you. So, in both cases no. My protection is a master switch on the entire system. If we met, I forgot, but that comes with age. :)
