Following the supplemental Gen 3 instructions says to split this harness have way to the computer connection and remove 2 plugs( not the O2 sensor plugs). I found one red wire splits to all four plugs. I am thinking I cut that red wire up at the split half way back to the computer connection and then splice two wires to run to each O2 plug. Does this sound right?

I found the same issue, and spliced in some suitable wire. Also, took the covering back to 3/4 of harness length and still didn't have too much length on left side O2. May have routed incorrectly...

There are two problems with that Gen 3 harness from the Ford Performance control pack. (1) It has connections for four O2 sensors. The upstream UEGO sensors and the downstream (e.g. after cats) CMS sensors. The crate motor doesn't use downstream sensors. The CMS connectors C141 and C142 can either be left unused or cut off as the FFR instructions describe. (2) As the harness is configured, lengths are completely wrong to reach the left and right UEGO sensor locations. Hence the FFR instructions to strip back the convolute and adjust as needed. On my Coupe build, where I used the Gen 3 Coyote, I didn't rework this harness until the engine, headers, and PCM were all placed. Yes, you need to get those red wires to each UEGO sensor.

Side note: I had an early Gen 3 control pack. Actually the very first one Ford Performance delivered. Mine even had the two actual downstream O2 sensors included. And no reference in the instructions that they weren't needed. Based on my feedback, they stopped supply the unused sensors and tweaked the instructions. Unfortunately, left the poor/incorrectly designed harness.

No, everyone who has used his help and knowledge owes him.
I don't use a Coyote, but have benefited from his builds in other ways. THANKS Paul, your builds are very high quality.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the feedback and comments. It's been fun sharing what I've learned over the past 10 years. Along with an occasional opinion.
