I'm shopping around for a Cobra and recently came across this one that looked interesting. This one has a different engine setup than what I have seen so far. Any thoughts good or bad about this 5.0 with a supercharger?
It has a performance built 5.0 with a supercharger. It has Kenne Bell TS Series twin screw supercharger, KB intake, KB Flowzilla plenum, Edelbrock 70 mm throttle body. BBK headers.128257128258128259128260

I would want to drive it. Not that there should be an issue, but you want to make sure you can run pump gas, how it handles the heat and how it runs out. Just the common sense questions.
You might search on the Mustang sites and see, how the 302 push rod owners like it with a KB on it.
I think the KB for the 302 is a 1.5 liter sc and does not have an intercooler. Something else you need to confirm.
As heat builds in a non intercooled engine, the computer needs to adjust the timing. Not for sure this era engine has that computer ability. The solution is to run conservative ign adv.
Looks like a well built set and is probably sorted out very well.
Let us know what else you know about the car. Good luck,

I have a KB running on a totally stock 302 at 6 psi boost. According to KB this should yield 300HP and 400 ft/lbs of torque. Because it is a positive displacement SC the torque is virtually flat from 1600 rpm to over 4500rpm-this gives the car a real kick and significantly faster acceleration particularly off the line. I installed the SC 11 years ago and have had no over heating problems in over 12,000 miles.
However, Kenne Bell is adamant that there must be a cold air intake or (at least for my SC) the warranty would be void! I pulled the cold air from the side fender vent with no problem even at speed. KB states that cold air reduces the intake charge temperature by 70-80 degrees versus under hood temps. I saw in your pictures that there is no cold air intake so it would be the first thing I would change if you make the purchase.
My '87 302 does not have a knock sensor-KB overcomes the risk of knock, especially at higher PSI, by increasing the fuel pressure thus delivering more fuel to cool the combustion chamber. I would suggest you go to the KB site to review the discussions of SC requirements-they are extremely knowledgeable.
I pondered doing a built engine or a power adder-KB was absolutely the best bang for the buck-tough to beat 75HP and 100+ft/lb for less than $2000 and a simple 4 hour bolt on. Please note that KB no longer makes an SC for the 302.
Good luck-it looks like a very clean install.

Ditto on the heat issue. I had a 95 Mustang Cobra with 331 and Kenne Bell 1.5 and it produced a lot of engine heat I added a Snow Performance Meth Injection kit that kept temps cooler but was a pain to keep filled. Performance was great though.

Are there louvers in the hood?
