Getting ready to register. Anyone out there registered in Texas yet? If so what classification? Reading through the assembled vehicle options and seem to be more than one option to go with. Street Rod? Custom? Also anyone have advice for limited mileage insurance options in Texas?

Piece of cake to title and register in Texas...I just finished mine as a Custom Vehicle. Just follow these guidelines for the category for your 35 Hot Rod Truck: ASSEMBLED and REBUILT VEHICLE MANUAL (http://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/TXDMV/2014/05/05/file_attachments/290552/Assembled%2BVehicle%2BManual.pdf) I titled it as 2020 ASVE Replica 1965 Cobra.....Custom Vehicle category. The clerk at the Tax Office knew the routine and the computer guided the entire processes.

Thanks. Did you need wipers? I'm reading that if vehicle has windshield needs wipers?

Bruce,

I did not. I do not think custom vehicle has to have them. I did add them. Hope I don't have to. What form are you looking at to see the wipers?

VTR-852 has a spot for wipers. But it also states that a vehicle year that your car is supposed to be like 1935, would follow 1935 year safety laws. So? Most Cobras do not have wipers do they? Do not think I have ever seen one with them

From what I can tell from Google wipers were standard equipment on fords from 1919? Let me know what you find.

Bruce,

My buddy has a 1934 all factory stock, does not have wipers. He said it was an option until mandated a few years later.

I'm miles away from finishing, only just ordered my stage 2, but it was interesting reading this part: "one photo of the make/year model that the vehicle resembles" - with me adding a 32 grill, it sure looks a lot more like a 32 than a 33 to most people not familiar with the body changes. I'll have to find a pic of a 33 with a 32 grill to submit. Although since I have no hood, sides or fenders, perhaps I'm overthinking it :D

Yea..I'm still trying to find a list of standard equipment and options for 35 truck and not having any luck. I'm surprised its so hard to find.

By developing a spring-loaded, lever-operated system, she was able to offer the world's first windshield wiper that the driver could operate from within the vehicle. She filed for a patent in 1903.

It was a giant leap forward in vehicle safety design. Unfortunately, for almost 35 years car companies didn't offer windshield wipers as standard equipment. It wasn't until the 1940s that automotive manufacturers began including wipers on all their products. This was, unfortunately, long after Mary Anderson's patent had expired.

Wipers were optional in 1938 at least....
