SO in the manual for the AC compressor there looks to be a grey and black wire , I only have a black wire ? What am I missing ?Running stock 302 if that matters

There is a black ground on one of the back bolts and if I recall the grey wire was tucked in the back of the pulley, it is for the clutch.

Only seeing a wire back of the pulley, maybe its grey, Ill just have to add ground I guess

This is interesting because my compressor also only has one wire.
Hope more will chime in to give some clarity.

hey John, so I looked at the gen 1/2 ac manual and it shows the one wire compressor, possibly we have to add a ground to the back of the compressor?

only run 1 wire you dont need the extra grond on ffr setup

Many compressors have one wire, this is a + lead to turn the clutch on when the A/C calls for it. The compressor clutch is grounded through the body of the compressor to the block of the motor. No need for additional grounding as long as the motor has a good ground.

If the motor does not have a good ground, you will have other issues.

More complex electrical systems use two leads to the clutch as they use low side switching, which basically means the ground is switched rather then the Positive side. This is not generally the case for the stuff we are doing.
