I bought this electric wiper kit about a year ago, it's still in the box.
I don't remember where I got it, however this is the one I have.

This wiper kit only has a 90º sweep, I'd like to have a 110+º sweep if possible.
What have some of you guys used? Now that I'm working on the roof it's time to drill a hole and mount it.
I need to have one wiper to pass the safety inspection.

Hey Jim,
Your lucky, I needed two of them from Seachoice and realized only after that they cannot be reversed so one cycles clockwise and the other counterclockwise. I only recently found another Marine wiper kit from Ongaro #31011 (http://shop.schmittongaromarine.com/wiper-motors/3288-standard-wiper-motor-kit-80-or-110-degree-12-volt-motor-w-arm-blade.html) which can wipe 110 degrees, can have the wiper park on one side or reversed to the other side. If I would have known about this one I would have bought the motor and a different arm as you will need to modify it to fit your window (I had to cut mine from Seachoice back) so it only wiped on the window.
In the end what i will be trying to do is have one auto park (passenger side) and the other I will need to park it manually (drivers side). If you need more info and pics I can do that if you like.

AJT,
All those wiper motors units look pretty much the same.
I did see the Seachoice wiper (110º) when I was looking for another wiper yesterday.
I took the cover off mine to see if I could change the sweep to more than 90º.
If I can I'll let you know.
Reversing the motor direction might be possible, I'll look into that.
I don't really like the looks of the shaft sticking out the top of the roof, I might see if I can mount it in the cowl below the windshield.
I used a similar one from Speedway and only to pass the AZ safety inspection. I drilled a hole through the windshield and mounting flange and as soon as the safety inspection was done I removed it and plugged the hole with a SS button head screw. If you go this route it makes a much cleaner installation and easier to cover if you want to remove the wiper. However, you should probably have a glass shop experienced in drilling safety glass make the hole for you. If you're feeling lucky, you can buy a diamond drill for glass and go slow and use lots of water.

Billet Covers can be added (or made) relatively easily for these and only change out with a set screw. I run with my wiper off ALL of the time and carry it in the trunk of the car with an allen wrench...

Thanks guys. I looked into mounting mine in the cowl, won't work without modifying the wiper arm.
I think keeping the roof with a clean look would be best.
I'll look into the hole thru the glass method. I did trim the windshield flange so there is only 0.45" left, but it should be enough if a glass shop can cut a U shaped hole at the edge of the glass.
Changing/modifying the guts inside the motor to increase the sweep looks to not be worth the effort.
AJT, if you add a diode between the S terminals both wipers should park themselves without one wiper interfering with the other. I can post a schematic if you need it.

NAZ, drilling the hole looks easy. How close to the edge is your hole?

Hey Jim, the issue is that I am trying to have one park on one side and the other on the opposite side. They only park on one side for the model I have which is similar to yours.
128180 This is how I had set it up, unfortunately the drivers side will not park on the right, it will park in the middle of the windshield. Now if your diode setup would force it to park to the other side that would be phenomenal!

AJT, both wipers would have to park on the same side if you were going to use the diode. This would allow you to use one switch.
The only way to get one wiper to park on the other side would be to relocate the park switch.
I'll take the cover off to see if it's feasible.

Not enough room inside the motor cover to modify the park switch.

Jim, I circled the SS button head screw that covers the hole for my single blade wiper. It's just to the right of and below the 5 in my competition number. Click on the photo to enlarge it.
Good luck.

Thanks NAZ, I'll get a hole drilled thru the glass.
