View Full Version : Rectangular Adhesive Backed Weatherstrip?

Just curious if everyone uses the rectangular adhesive backed weatherstrip that runs along the top of the chassis tubes on either side of the hood opening?

I most certainly did. I actually got some thinker material than what FFR provides. It's there for a reason. I would recommend using it.

Keep in mind that unlike older Mk FFRs the MkIV body does not sit on those tubes their full length. It is in contact at the firewall end but at the front it is maybe 1/2 inch above the steel tubes.

Craig is 100% correct. Once the nose is raised to the proper position there is no contact; if it's resting on the rails tou won't be able to get the hood to fit.

So do you guys run it half way down? Or just up near the firewall?
