Hello all, as of now my kit is scheduled for p/u by ST and has a delivery ETA of May 15, so I will start my build thread. First, I would like to thank Edwardb, Al C,Chris Tennant, Jose from illegal garage, along with the guys at FFR and the forum for putting up with my questions and me. As, of February, I have been reading the forums like a mad man, getting ideas and tech details. I will keep this short and as of now just list my kit along with upcoming breeze and RT parts I want to get. So, here goes,

Engine I plan to go with Mike Forte for the Gen 3 and TKO trans.

Congratulations!!! I am about a month into my build... having a blast so far. Definitely will be following your journey.

For pics you need to re-size them smaller (1280x720 seems like a good size), if they are too large they flip all over the place.

As, of now, I completed the inventory after 6 plus hours after the kit was delivered. Day 2, consisted of minimizing boxes or putting them into storage for later use, along with building the body buck lift (thanks to Al_C for the buck and casters). Now that the body is off, next step is drilling, fitting and labeling the panels to send off to powder coat.

There are still some crucial parts on the POL suspension lift, so the PC could be done prior. Also, as you can see in the picture the Del sheet has CO, which the body guy must have gone to lunch after he cut the PS roll bar holes, cause those are the only ones cut. LOL. No, biggie just have to measure more and cut once.

I just did my cockpit yesterday as well, I think I went through four battery swaps on my Porter Cable cordless drill.... talk about a lot of drilling.

I noticed on your inside corner panels you have phillip screw heads are you going to rive nut that panel on?

FMAN, I too went recharging the batteries twice. I still have to do the footboxes and floor pans (most are panel to panel). The rear inside tunnel panels have the self tapping screws cause it was easier to use rather than drill a hole and Cleco and repeat. The screws just help holding it together.

These are great color choices. I think gunmetal grey is classic and clean, especially attractive with red accents. It reminds me a bit of the 2019 LCS raffle car.

I think Al is doing all of his drilling, fitting and modifying of his panels early on so that he can send them out for coating while he works on suspension, brakes, etc.---which is smart!

ah - makes sense! :) looks great! I'm sure drilling all those holes is a pain in the wrist! getting there soon!

AL C, Actually I did appreciate them, thanks for sharing them. Sten was going to assist but I didn't receive my bleeder from Amazon, so brake bleeding went out the window.

Current progress/update

Currently, I have the brakes bled, Which I will have to do over since the pedal feels spongy, the trunk is buttoned up along with the rear wiring. I will be in process of the installing the cockpit Koolmat. While I am waiting on the motor from Mike Forte.

So, I assume you intend for the mega fuse and PDB to be powered continuously. I used my cutoff switch as a true disconnect and it appears to work just fine and it has the added benefit of truly shutting of all power. It's nice when you are working on something and realize that your tool is getting a little too close to power circuits - just reach over and turn the key and everything electrical is off. Just a suggestion.

almost. the cable coming off of the input side that you have going to the 250 A fuse: there are two connections there - the front of the PDDB and to the C500 cable that goes to the PCM.

Bus connection looks good, I just don't recall (i.e. can't find specific notes on this point) if you run a line to the ignition switch from here. don't forget - there is a lot of interaction between the PCM (the c160a pigtail) and the ignition switch. I'll keep looking for you.

Your diagram is OK for power. Leaves the Coyote powered all the time, which is what the Ford instructions recommend. Turning the key off will kill anything attached to the Ron Francis harness, and would also stop the engine if it's running. Al_C is correct. There is another power wire in the Coyote harness that goes to the front of the PDB in addition to the +12V battery connection. But it's not labelled C500 in the Gen 3 instructions, and also doesn't include a connector and ground like the Gen 2. It's showing in the Ford Gen 3 instructions as already attached to the lug on the front of the PDB.

I do think you have a little confusion about the blue start sense wire though. That's from the Coyote pigtail and goes to the ignition switch. Not the starter itself. The Coyote system is expecting +12V on that wire when the key is turned to start. The only wires to the starter are the +12V from the battery (which you have) and the starter wire from the Coyote harness. Item H in the Ford harness instructions. It's clearly marked.

Makes sense. Just confusing that you showed that wire by the starter when it actually doesn't get close to it. One caution. Ignition switches are designed to cut off the ACC feed when in the start position. So that maximum current is available to spin the starter. For the Ron Francis harness, that means gauges, radio, heater and wipers are cut off. Likely not an issue and especially if powered off (if possible) while cranking. Just something to be aware of it you weren't.

Ok all, Ill be closing this thread as of today. I haven't posted much on here for the build as posting pictures doesn't work out as good as I'd like. It was easier to post on the Facebook Factory Five builder page. There I did the majority of my documentation. As, of now the build has been inspected by the secretary of State in Illinois and has been assigned a VIN. Plates have been ordered and awaiting receipt. All in all the build has been graduated.
