Ok as a newbie that has never sat in a MK4 can someone who is around 6' 2" tell me if this model will work?
I've driven a 78 CJ5 for years and never thought much about the cramped drivers seat area, but this is a little different.
I've seen the information video that Dan puts on about the different seats that FFR provides to accomidate the taller person, but curious how others dealt with this?
I was hoping to sit in a MK4, but haven't seen one here in the Clarksville, TN area.
Any help would be much appriciated.
Thanks,
Dan

Hi Dan
I am 6'2" 195lbs. I have the kirkey high back seat and I fit great! The standard seats will be very very tight for you. Kirkey high back or low back is the way to go.

FFR also has a big and tall classic seat.
1974 CJ5 was the first car/truck I bought new in '73.

Dan, I'm 6'6" and I just barely fit. The Kirkey 17" vintage seats made the most difference for me. I've sat in "standard" MK IIIs and I cannot get in. I've also shimmed up the steering column and shaved the pedals down for more footroom.

I am 6'2" tall with a 32" inseam and weigh 230. I fit fine in my Mk4 with big and tall seats.

6'2" and 240# and I fit just fine. I have Breeze seat wedges and big/tall leather seats from FFR mounted as far back as I can go. I didn't make any footbox modifications and it works well for me.

Thanks everyone. Ok being 6’2” and 220 with a little seat adjustment I should be fine then. If a 6’ 6” guy is fine then I ain’t got nothing to worry about..lol. I will have to check out the kirkey seats..

My CJ5 was really nice. It is the one vehicle I wish I would have never sold.

6’-2” and 240... I fit just fine in my Mk3 with the old street performer seats. With 74k on the car, I’ve had plenty of time to evaluate them! You’ll be good!
