I’m looking for Best Known Methods for priming a Gen 2 Coyote. I hope to have a first start in a couple of weeks. Suggestions on any special tools would also be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Tim

I don't think you can do it except by cranking the engine. Maybe disconnect the fuel pump power. Really don't see the need though.

Ok thanks. I'm trying to find any info I can and If I don't need to that would be great. I've never done anything like this before and I've heard and read that priming a new or rebuilt engine, getting oil into as many areas as possible to lube as much as possible, is the first thing to do. Maybe that's why I couldn't find any info. with this type of engine there is no need.
Thanks for your reply.

I would turn the key and start it up.

The engine comes from the factory with oil in it, even though I know we drain to change the oil pan. But it's not dry. Plus they cold run them after assembly (e.g. without gasoline) for test purposes. So you're safe as others have also recommended. Not exactly the same as a custom engine built in a shop. Keep in mind they're normally going to an assembly plant, going into cars, and could sit for months in that process as well. I'm fairly confident Ford doesn't do anything except jump in and start them.

Ok, thank you for the input and reassurance.
