T5 Shifter Question S-10 / Mustang tailstock swap

I'm swapping a Chevy S-10 tailstock onto my 87 mustang donor T5. The problem I have is the shifter. The Mustang shifter does not fit. The original Chevy S-10 shifter was missing from the yard parts truck.
I read that the Camaro T5 shifter will work but I would like to hear from anyone who knows for sure, ie which models or year range.

Drove back to Ontario from Florida and I'm stuck in quarantine for another 10 days and can't go prowling the wreckers yards for now. :(

i installed an MGW Short Shifter for a chevy (s10), I think this was the one, but double check.

Ah. Just found my answer. I now am looking for a cheap camaro/firebird shifter. OE will do. Thanks for the link. Anyone have an old shifter lying around? :-)

I'm using a Hurst for a Camaro T5. I would suggest trying to find an aftermarket shifter. They are significantly better than stock and have positive stops which will help protect the tranny on hard shifts or when resting you hand on the shifter, for instance.

I did the S10 tail swap too. The 03-04 Mustang Cobra 6 speed shifters work too.
